Darjeeling Black Tea
Darjeeling Black Teas are top grade quality leaves that are grown 6800 feet above sea level; they undergo the traditional, unique and extensive way of careful processing. What is unique with Darjeeling Black Tea is the complete process of oxidation that it undergoes with the help of just the right amount of sunshine from its high mountainside location.
The plants are aged naturally accounting to its astringent and tannic characteristic from natural ageing. Its floral aroma and musky spiciness come from the mountainous soil where they are cultivated, which tea connoisseurs love and refer to as its “muscatel” flavor.
Darjeeling Black tea differs from the other types of tea because it requires full drying of the leaves until they are dark in color and then they are carefully cracked to let more oxygen in, this is called 100% oxidation, this is what makes the tea leaves turn dark in color.
